Apple cinnamon oatmeal

It’s oatmeal time again! I am always craving for a nice porridge in the weekend, so I will share you as much recipe as possible. Therefore, if you are also that kind, then you can enjoy these delish plates as well. Let’s see what we have for today.

It is officially autumn here (I think I said this few times…). There were always few days, when the good weather came back but from now on cosy time on! Warm socks, scented candles (preferably something with cinnamon, apple, pumpkin), delicious heart-warming food and drinks. This oatmeal is also like that. Packed with the taste of autumn, warm and creamy. Here is the recipe how I made it.

Ingredients

  • 400 ml coconut rice milk
  • 5 tbsp oat bran
  • 2 apples
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp cardamom
  • ¼ anise

Method

  1. First, we make the apple compote for the oatmeal. Peel and cut the apples into small cubes. Put them in a skillet or a saucepan (whatever you prefer) and turn the heat on. Add a little water (few tablespoons) and the maple syrup.
  2. Add the herbs: 1 tsp cinnamon (the other one goes in the porridge), ½ cardamom and ¼ anise. Stir them together until the apples are completely cover. Cook them until the apples are soft. If you want you can add some sugar, but I think the syrup will make it sweet enough.
  3. In another pot warm up the milk with the other teaspoon of cinnamon. Add the oat bran and stir it until it is creamy.
  4. Plate it and top it with the apple compote.

Enjoy it!

Have a nice time with cooking!
